SERENGETI, NGORONGORO CRATER ETC

May 2018

We have what has become our trade mark Migration Safari planned for the latter part of May. This is an 12 day Safari where we accompany those who are keen to undertake this unusual and memorable Safari. This year we are including a new area in the south east of the Serengeti for one night. This should give us a greater coverage of a different aspect of the Serengeti. Unfortunately this Safari is almost fully booked with only a few places still to be filled. We are already looking forward to the Safari and meeting our repeat passengers and also meeting those who have not been with us before.

We currently have space on two earlier dates in May. These Safaris are identical to the one mentioned above but will be unaccompanied. We have no hesitation in helping to organise these unaccompanied Safaris for our Tanzanian principles as we have done a number previously. We know that they really do a fantastic job even though we are not there. They even went to great lengths to locate a very unwell lady who was in the Serengeti. She was not part of any tour organised by their group but a distressed relation who had been with us previously phoned us desperate for help. Having located this young lady, they arranged accommodation for her in one of the lodges overnight and medical assistance. The next day they arranged for her to be flown back to Arusha where they met her and conveyed her to a Doctor. This year, one of our group fell and broke her wrist. She was flown out of the Serengeti on the first available aircraft to Arusha where she was met and conveyed to hospital where she had her break attended to. That night she was conveyed back to the lodge which we stay in, just outside Arusha. Early the next morning she was collected and conveyed back to the airport. She was back at the Grumedi River with the rest of us by 09.00 hrs the morning. She was away from the group for 24 hours. Truly amazing service in difficult situations in that part of the world, from the company who look after us.

We can also assist with a tailor made Safari's at any time of the year provided accommodation is available. We have done several of these and they have, without exception, been a great success.

KILIMANJARO CLIMB

We work closely with our Tanzania colleagues who have a dedicated team for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. We have assisted a number of groups with their climb and they have all been very happy with the way in which everything has been handled.

One climber would not have summited and already decided to abandon his last few hours of climb. The Guide persuaded him to continue and with the Guides assistance he finally made it to the top.

The Kilimanjaro team are very slick and professional at how they manage these climbs and are also very caring of their climbers which is so important.

If one is thinking of undertaking this climb, this team is well worth considering.

May 2019

We are currently compiling our list of names for those wishing to join us on our 2019 accompanied Safari for May 2019. The details are similar to the 2018 Safari and we are already half full. Availability of accommodation at this time of year can be a problem so we have to start working on our numbers well in advance.

We will also be assisting with unaccompanied Safaris on two alternative dates in May and are very happy to provide details on these Safaris.

Safari's can be arranged at any time of the year but prices change with the season.

MANA POOLS - ZIMBABWE

Here we work very closely with the owners of a Safari Camp who operate in the Mana Pools area of Zimbabwe. They are the principles and again we simply assist in putting the groups together.Dave and Tess

This is a unique Wildlife area - very different to most Parks that one can visit. It is a very remote location which is part of its appeal, and supplies are complex due to the remoteness. This tends to make it a little more expensive. This unique spot should be on ones " Bucket List ".

GORILLA EXPEDITION

In 2016 we assisted a small group by assisting them put together an 'add on' Safari after the Tanzania Parks, to see the Gorilla's. This was a five day Safari to Rwanda and Uganda and although an expensive Safari, the group found the Safari to be testing because of the hike in the forests, but thoroughly enjoyable and worth while.

In 2017 one couple added a 'quick visit' to the Gorilla's after our Tanzania and Kenya Safari's. They found the visit worth while but also commented on the hike in the forests to get to the Gorillas. This is to be expected because it is where the Gorillas live.

This Gorilla visit can be arranged at any time of year but the rainy season is probably not the best time of year to go.

KENYA

We have done a few "add on" Safari's before and after the northern Tanzania Park's Safari's and these have all been very successful. If there is a requirement for any "add on's" we are very happy to assist with the planning and execution of these. We would would work with the people who we always work with knowing how they are able to perform in Kenya as well as Tanzania where they are based.
