Tanzania - Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha National Park.

21/5/2012 to 1/6/2012.

There are always interludes that occur on these Safaris that highlight a Safari of this nature. This Safari had a few such events. The first of these occurred as we arrived in the Serengeti when were very privileged to be guided to a tree that had three seemingly adult Leopards. They were in fact a mother and two almost adult cubs. These Leopards were not distressed by us being there and we were able to spend some unique time in their company obtaining some memorable photographs.

The next morning they were still in the same place being just as co-operative. We reluctantly moved on from that location and about 20 minutes later stumbled on a family of Lions with cubs climbing on a fallen over Yellow Fever Tree. Another spectacular hour followed.

It seemed impossible for there to be anything else to see that could compete with what we had seen already. However these Parks don't let you down and we continued to see amazing elephants , Cheetah, Crocodile, Hippo and amazing birds. All topped of by a reasonably close sighting of two Black Rhino in the Crater.

The migration on this Safari was less impressive than we had seen before and was still very much in the process of forming up into the moving mass of animals that one can be lucky to see.

Finally we had two Lanner Falcons chasing a wattled starling which kept flying under the extended roof of our vehicle in an attempt to escape.
