Tanzania - Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha National Park.

15/5/2013 to 26/5/2013.

We were greeted, shortly after our entry into the Serengeti by the Migration advancing in a huge curved line across the Serengeti Plains. We came upon this mass of moving animals on a number of occasions during our stay and each time we saw them they seemed to be more and more impressive. We have heard estimates of the number being in the region of 3 million.

Elephants were also spectacular and in reasonably large numbers. Lions were also in abundance with a good number paired off from the pride. The other cats were there but not as spectacular as we had enjoyed on previous Safaris. A memorable early morning was enjoyed in the company of Verreaux's Eagle-owl's. These birds are usually very shy and tend to be well hidden but this pair were not perturbed by us being there.

This was another spectacular Safari and the largest group who had come with us. Once again the Tanzanians took it all in their stride and their input was exceptional. The guides were, as usual very competent and pleasant to be with.
